interchangable aftermarket parts
I read about references to where you guys are substituting things like Chevy points, Bosch coils, Volkswagon coil leads ect. So I am guessing that this is a trial and err thing that you have just learned, or is there a cross reference somewhere with this info. Is a 12 volt coil a 12 volt coil, meaning any could work, same with points and condensors ect?

A 12 volt internal resister coil is a 12 volt internal resister coil... Yes mostly trial and error.

I have read, but not seen for myself, that Chevy points require a new bracket made to hold them. Yes, they work the same, and plus they have a stronger backspring-- but they will not bolt up to the stock Kohler bracket.
