Default Onan replacement
I have a 982 that threw a rod and damaged the crank.It is a B48g/3707 and I found a p220g that was an auger engine so I am assuming that it would be a base engine. Would it be a direct bolt in? I am going to look at it tomorrow

Yes. Bolt right in. Drive cup and clutch from your old engine should go right on that performer. It's the exact same engine as in my 982. Pics!!!

Rich Patton has a used crank for it. I would keep the B48G. They are good engines except for the rod issues and are hard to find.

Not very much. If I understand correctly, the performer 20 replaced the B48. They are the sane size and I believe they both make the same power. The differences are slight, but since I have never seen a B48 in person or taken one apart I can't say for sure what they are.

I think the rod issue was one of the fixes in the performer engine

Well I got that 220 and it is supposed to rain tonight so I will get at it tomorrow. It hasn't run for a couple years so I hope I didn't buy a boat anchor.
