Spark plug flew out
My son "again" was mowing the lawn with my CCO k161 when the spark plug launched across the yard. He wasn't able to recover it but did remove the plug from our 1200 and continued mowing. What would cause this? Loose plug?

I would say it must of been loose. I dont see any other reason.

I concur, if new plug threaded back in, it had to have worked loose.
Or, the boy got tired of mowing, tossed the plug (no plug, no go=no mow), had second thoughts, couldn't find it, robbed other plug, finished his job, just saying.....

My kids are still young enough where they don't get nearly enough seat time. If your son is a teenager then maybe!!lol

If it actually flew out, I'd be surprised if it didn't dent the hood! Just trying to think how a teenager would....LOL (they aren't nearly as smart as they think they are)! I have finally ridded the nest of my 5th teenager, none of which were very work brittle!

I guess the first thing I would do is make sure the threads are not compromised any or you might end up with another plug flying out. Are you running that without a hood ? Just trying to figure out how a plug would fly across the yard. Seems as though it would have slammed into the hood as already stated.

I had a 107 that did that a couple of times. Come to find out, the threads were stripped out and I had to have the head heli-coiled to hold the plug in. Or you could replace the head with a new one....BE CAREFUL!!! DO NOT STAND OVER THE TOP OF THE ENGINE!! Mine shot out with a great deal of force and you could really get hurt. Inspect those threads carefully and warn your son to not stand over the engine while it is running .......
