Hey everyone! I have a few questions, and I suppose I'll give you the back story first:
About a year ago I bought a Cub Cadet 1512 to replace a Troybilt Tractor I had that had a blown engine. Half the reason I bought this is the implements and everything that came with it: A 50 inch deck, a hydraulic plow and a snow blower. The downside, was that the guy I purchased it from had decided to run the snow blower on his gravel driveway and ended up breaking the roller chain. Long story short, he started taking apart the blower and I purchased all the "parts" along with everything else that worked. Since I was going into winter, I opted to use the plow last year. It is now time to figure out the problems with the blower, and I'm stuck in a few places. First of all, the belt I was given is either to large (stretched out) or more likely there is a way to adjust the blower to take the belt that I am not seeing. Can anyone explain to me what I might need to do? I also have a few smaller parts I can not figure out where they belong for the life of me. I've attached a couple pictures to look at. The first I have no idea. The second may or may not be a part of the blower - I found it laying next to the spare parts I had stashed for the blower, but don't know what it would go to. The last 3 are just pictures of what I'm looking at. The blower is a model H42 K according to the plate. Any help and/or pictures anyone could provide would be great. Thanks! |

If you haven't looked at the parts schematic from partstree, here it is.
http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=c...ers+H42%2C+H48 Your mystery parts look like #17 and #19 on the diagram. Sometimes it helps me, no substitute for a manual though. Nate

Thanks! I've almost got her put back together... But everytime I think I'm close, I find something else I might as well replace while it's in pieces! Anyone know what the hole in the picture closest to me is for? I can't find any reason for it, and I'm out of parts!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
