Anyone? I need this hunk-o-junk running. Any links or diagrams on carb rebuild and assembly?

Have you tried the service manual on Kohler's website?

Im curiously awaiting a resolution to this problem myself. My 3235 runs the same way. You have to have the choke halfway on to keep it running.

It's alive! I finally figured out what the problem was after nearly 2 mos of chasing my tale around this mower. The original culprit to the problem was the fuel silenoid, once I determined it was bad, I took a grinder to it and cut bout 1/2" off of it (wasn't paying $150 for that goofy part). Then it would run on low idle, but not full throttle. The guy I had clean the carb for me, put the jet in upside down and had an extra o-ring around the fuel jet blocking an orifice. Took the o-ring off, flipped the jet, now it purrs like a kitten. Can't wait to mow with it. Thanks to you guys that helped answer some ?'s.

On a side note, I never posted pics of it. It looks rough, the original owner took a pressure washer to it, blowed a lot of paint off, left it outside, now has a lot of surface rust. I hope to paint it this winter.

Hey, all the paint on mine did the exact same thing. Flaked then pealed, in big sheets! Thats how it was when I got it!

Yeah, MTD hasn't really had much success getting paint to stick to a Cub Cadet since about 1989.

Yes it flaked off in big chunks. Both rear fenders, hood, side hood sections and the grill. It didn't bother me, I got it at a good price considering how it looked. Also came with a bagger which I don't even use. I think new in '05 the mower was $7500+ with the deck and bagger system. My price was 10% of that.

Heres a pic of mine. I dont wanna make ya feel bad, but I have a little over $20 dollars in hauling mine home and then about $450 in fixing the engine up that was full of water! These tractors are really nice, just wish they had a diesel option.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
