thanks everyone. the tip is not original...i found it at the parts store and welded it on....the thing must be messed up cuz for some reason it did seem to run cooler but i will try it again with the side shields. them weights are 75 lbs each

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens.
