Question engage speed for mower
Just wondering what motor speed you all engage your mowers at . The older ones with manual lever I do at low RPMs what is proper for the 82 series with electric clutches?

Half speed or so.

If you watched my smoker video you can hear and see when I engaged the PTO and then moved the throttle up to mow with.

As low as you can start it without killing the engine. The higher the speed you turn it on at, the faster you'll wear it out.

Matt is so right,
You don't give your vehicle full throttle, then slip the clutch to get started.
I have a neighbor with off brand mower, and he runs the throttle to full rpm's then flips the switch, it gives me the shivers.
There is just no reason for that kind of abuse to a clutch

That's what I thought,but I was told by some one with a different brand and newer that they have to engage there mower at full RPM or it will cut the belt. He was told this by the dealer after he broke a belt starting it at low RPM's. That sounds crazy to me. Just wondering what you think.
