Ok,
Both of these solutions will work. As far as the tractor and the electricity are concerned one color will work for all of the secondary 12-14 gage, and one wire color would work for the primary 8-10 gage. But I am far from a electrician. So I chose to color code the harness to allow future trouble shooting if needed. I have owned Cubs since 84 and almost all of them have had some type of electrical problems. I feel that this was a weak point in the Cubs. On my new refurb I wanted a good sound system that I was confident would work. I have a 127 setting right next to it that is wired in 1 or two colors by my son. It runs good, just doesn't charge. Did I over kill the wiring? Maybe! But that how I chose to do this project. No regrets yet  Regards, Chris

If your going to buy 2 spools of different gauges you might want to pick up some spray paint to color them your self, lol. You could use different colored tape on the ends to match the ends but then you will still have a hard time if something goes bad in the middle of the harness.
