I use off road diesel too. I was told at my Co-op that it is still low sulfur, it just has red dye added because it is not taxed.

I've been a diesel tech since 1976, when the low sulfur fuel came out I thought we would see more injector and pump problems. but we really didn't. when the ultra low came out We had allot of problems with algae growing in the fuel and plugging the fuel filters. so running fuel conditioner is a real good idea. where we saw the most algae growth was in school bus's. they sat all summer and when school started they had a ton of problems. surprisingly in the old stuff we really haven't seen problems with mechanical pumps and there's still allot of them out there

The algae is from the bio-diesel, not the low sulfur. I agree with you on everything else. I thought after the low sulfur we'd see more pump failures too..... but we didn't. I replaced FAR more pumps because of algae locking them up than anything. STAY AWAY FROM SOY-DIESEL!!! I'm not much of an additive guy, just for the record. Don't see the need. My testimonial is my 1990 Dodge Cummins with 500K miles...... and only on injection pump #2. Fist one made 225K, second one went the rest, and still going!

All diesel fuel is the same, except for the dye and additives, it is all low sulfur. Come on, its all made in a refinery, you really think the EPA would let them bypass the desulfurization step......
