1st Summer; He was agast that HE HAD to take it in for repairs. Rented a trailer & waiting 3 weeks for repairs. Then to find out the problem was NOT covered under warranty. lol. What does one expect ? he brags all the time about his Masters degree from U of Chicago. He is a sorta a POMPUS #&@$% 2nd year; Mid summer it broke down again, leaking oil. He wont admit to me how much that cost. Last year; Bearings went out on his deck. after 2 1/2 Summers of cutting grass. When he first got it he was Soooooooo proud. But he didn't understand what an Ole' Cub Meant, I tried to explain to him but he didn't get it. Now he NEVER EVER BRINGS UP THE SUBJECT. ![]() Nik,

Some people have to learn the hard way , thank god for that , I get many mowers off the " resale rack " for a fraction of the original price !, then go through them & sell them again , most mods or repairs are stupid little
Thing that people do them selves then return them busted up & blame the big box store for selling junk ! ; 2 mowers last year one would not start ( cranked fine ) bought it for $4xx.xx got it home , put gas in it & checked the oil , ran fin for me sold it for $9xx.00 ( new owner is still happy with it) the other mower was a loose wire on a safety switch it too doubled my investment ! I sill believe the old cubs are best , but you can make a good buck on the newer ones if you get them right ! This just proves you can't cure stupid !

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
