I got both side panels. The right side piece above the muffler is broken and missing. What were the engineers thinking when they designed those plastic covers? They must have been worked as a child's toy designer. Although Tonka is probably better quality.

:beerchugI like it!! I'm new here too, so I don't know a lot, but I can tell you that one looks in better shape in the rough than the 1864 I jumped in to... except for the plastic. My plastic was cracked in the front but was all there.

I bet she will clean up good. Best of luck with the mechanical stuff!!!

It will be fun!! I've been very rewarded with mine so far!!

I figure we are less than a mile apart. You should be behind me of 68 somewhere. There is another member north of us in Philadelphia, his name is Tim.

Does the 2182 have a dealer sticker on it. Holt Tractor Sales was the CC dealer in this area and I wanted to put one of their stickers on the 1050 when it gets finished because it was sold new at their dealership. I talked to Calvin Holt a couple of months ago and he is going to save me a couple if he finds any in storage but they have been closed for years so the chances are slim.
If your 2182 has one of their stickers on it I would like to take a pic of it for my decal lady to reproduce.

I had a couple minutes last night to try it. Not a pop, nothing. Seems it has fire at the plugs although not as hot a spark as I would expect. It has good fuel volume and pressure at the carb. and seems to have good compression. Right now I am thinking fuel not getting through the carb, float valve. The carb shows no signs of ever being worked on, not molested, anyway. I will try it on propane as a next step, hopefully sometime today.
Last time it was started was October 2014. Oil pressure came right up with a dozen revolutions of the engine.
Yeah, I am getting anxious to hear it run.
Question: What are the two extra hoses coming from the distributor cap?
I've looked for information on this distributor to no avail.

I can find no dealer sticker on the tractor. However, the guy I bought it from says he has some original paperwork and is looking for it. He is not the original owner.
You and I probably need to GTG FTF for coffee or breakfast sometime or perhaps show and tell, tractor related. I am retired so my time is flexible.

Hoses are vents. Carb has a drain on the bottom, check and see if you have gas in the float bowl. I also removed the shut down solenoid from the carb on this one. Luckily these are pretty easy carbs to work on. Red arrow points to the drain.

Edit: This is a thread on my latest 2182. You'll pretty much end up doing the same things. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=35311

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
