There is nothing good about Facebook. You can keep in touch with your friends and family via phone, text, email, IM, Facetime etc. Once you join Facebook, you give up all privacy - you start "liking" things, now they know everything about you - religious beliefs, political affiliation, what you eat, what you listen to, where you've been and when , and so on. They track all your browsing too. Even if you never interact - like, post or upload, they still extract information about you from your circle of friends. You know the movie Matrix where people are the batteries? That's you on Facebook. I stay as far away from it as possible.

I've have joined and now I've given Facebook the double middle digits up. Joined them last spring in order to have contact with someone selling a NOS K301 for Cub Cadet. Nothing became of it and that was not a problem. But just last week in time for holidays, I tried to seek out an old family member. Tried to log on and Facebook questioned whether if was me trying to log onto my account. They want me to send them a photo-copy of my driver's ID with photo or birth certificate or some other sensitive document like bank statements.... anything to prove I'm me and I'm the one who owns my account. Of course, Facebook said to cover addresses, account numbers, DL number or anything not relevant. All they wanted to see is my name and mug shot. They don't need that........they are in contact with me thru email or text messaging with a password account. If they can't trust my email, then I can't trust them. Up yours, Facebook!
Sorry for my rant and sorry to derail the forum user topic.....just had to get this off my chest!

I agree completely. I joined this site for a few reasons:
To gain knowledge about all my Cubs I own as well as all other Cubs in general. To check out other people's Cubs. Because we all love doing it. I'll admit my two favorite sites are occ and Craigslist. I have no issues finding Cubs on either. I'm also on Facebook. But I agree with all you guys it causes drama and drives families apart. My opinion it's a joke. I'd rather talk about Cubs then my personal life. |

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I don't have drama book either but have a wife that's glued to it. I do see it as a tool for reconnecting if you want to or stay connected with people. I'm just not into reconnecting I guess.
I have small kids and am insane about how everyone has to tell everyone else every detail of their life and where they are all the time. Guess I'm more private in that way. I just watched a show where a tech saavy guy found 2 random girls on the beach and convinced them he was an old college acquaintance and knew all of their mutual friends, family members and everything, just by studying their profile details, a perfect stranger mind you. They were weirded out to say the least when he told them the truth and just by location services he knew way more than he should have. I will admit it seems to invite the fox into the hen house with marriages as I've seen that happen to a lot of my friends but then again there's sites like Ashley Maddison that promote it which is crazy to me, and yeah, if you're in a bad marriage people find a way to step out anyway but I think it makes it easier for that stuff to happen. Anyway I will stick to this site and craigs list as well. So carry on if that's you're deal, I will stay on this side of the social media fence for now and cut the grass with my old "Club Cadet" "lawn mower" Elle oh Elle ![]() Oh PS, I've been on our site at all hours of the night and I think the crawlers are out there more than we think, there's always way more guests at 3 AM than I think there really is.

Hell I thought I was the only old fool who didn't do spaced out bookie thing or flitter flutter er whatever.
I tweet when I'm in the bathroom, but I don't have to post it to the world or take a picture of my "movements"..There is way too much gubber-mint snooping into out lives, without helping them out. I hate to use google but it is a valuable tool in finding things/people/parts. End of rant.

Facebook to me is the modern day party line to me. My wife says I spend to much time on here! Lol I'm friends with a couple OCC members on Facebook. As for the one and done wanting to sell I think it's good they care enough to try and sell their cub stuff to someone who will appreciate them .

I got few friends on Facebook but I don't share my personal life, the chat is useful for some of my contact in France, Northway, UK and USA, we share technical knowledge mostly or just new stuff we purchase or we found. For me it's a tool but I can live without it anytime!
Google, Craiglist, online auction, forums and E-mail accounts are my daily "tour". Learning something new every day or just looking at others wonderful realisation is what's drive me like a young boy in a candy store.

I have a hard time sleeping through the night, bad back. Cant stay in one position long enough to get a straight 6 hrs let alone 8 (more like 3 at a time) so if i wake and gotta get up and move around so i dont wake the wife I usually pop on here just to see if anyone posted anything new while I was napping! If nothing else just for a time killer but if I dont see anything going on I jump out to check out whats new on CL. got a few real good deals on there this time of night (morning) because not alot of competition!
I started a FB account to keep intouch with my two oldest daughters 15 & 17 that live with there mother (and only use that term because if i type what i usually call her i would be banned for life!) and while checking on them I have found my x buying and selling drugs on there for the whole world to see!! FB makes stupid people even more stupid I swear!! Even with all the dirt she hands me for free for the judge to see he still lets her get off scott free! Thinkin now he may be a FB junkie!!

I'm guilty of being a lurker (guest) too. I've read a couple tractor sites for over 10 years related to my 8n fords. I'd hate to join now and admit that. Mike

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
