No, the grill was fine. I got the clamp on version, the hole in the grill was big enough to just slide it through. Looks kind of funky, not a clean look like a side stack, and you have to remember it's there when the front end is close to anything.
Like I said, my muffler was not working well so I was either spending money on a new stock muffler or leaving the one I have in place and spending on the Supertrapp. I decided to give it a try. A good test will be if I put it on the 2084 which is already quieter.

If you get a wide frame (others may be similar) the 'stock' muffler exits at the right front of the tractor. I'd get some pipe (conduit works, I'm told) and bend it so it goes straight up, and add a IH Cub muffler on top for a 'dual muffler' system.
To make it quieter yet, make sure the stack is taller than you (seated on tractor), or get a 'turn out' and face it forward. Really though, I think it'd be hard to beat a good set of 'earmuff' style hearing protection. I'd recommend wearing hearing protection whenever operating the CC or other powered equipment.
