Thanks guys, I hope I can get some work done to it this week and maybe fire it up on the weekend.

Ken, I'm missing the spacer for the ps bracket and used some large washers to make the difference up. I will probably turn the muffler up and I hope I have enough clearence.

Jonathan, I will drive the pump off of the front pto but I need to make the pump bracket out of an old mule drive I have. I always wanted to drive one off of the back of the hydro pump and use the rear case for the sump but I can't do that on this one because of the rear pto. I'm debating removing the pto clutch off the front and just use 2 sheaves that are the same size to give me a 1:1 ratio or just use a 4.6" sheave and leave the pto on. What do you see out there?

Randy, I missed the tiller. I tried hard to find it because they were going to try and use it on a cat 1 tractor and it would be turning the wrong direction...never found it

Allen, I should have this one at Vince's plowday for you to test drive.

Does anybody have any pics of how their loader pumps are mounted. This one was missing the complete pump and bracket and now I need to start from scratch. I'm thinking about changing all the hoses too because this thing sat outside for something like 10 years and they look pretty dry rotted. Anybody ever order them from Surplus Center?

Thanks again everybody, I will keep you all up to date and have lots of pics.

Ken, thanks a bunch. Those pics will help me get something fabbed up. I think I have the PDF manual for it and I bet their phone number is on there too. I will try and give them a call and see if they have anything.

Thanks, Cory. I sure hope this tractor runs. I kinda bought it in pieces.

Oak, what have you found is the easiest way to remove the stock drive shaft in the 1772? I had the rear end out the last time to repair the cracked case, but I don't want to mess with those touchy rear end mounting bolts. Could slide engine up a hair, but maybe I am overlooking some easier way. May do one of the 3000 series updates. I don't use the tractor hardly at all anymore because my gas ones are so much smoother and I want to get it running 100% again.

Hi Matt, I've found that pulling the engine mount bolts and sliding the motor forward and to the side a bit is the easiest way, but Todd may have a better way of doing it.

Yep, slide the engine forward. You may want to do the CV type joints if your going to work it hard.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
