Here is the information as provided by both IH & CCC with regard to the 982 brakes.

I looked through all my IH & CCC brochures and data sheets, as well as the TC-193 paper parts manual [IH], as well as the Cub Cadet Electronic Parts Lookup (PartsTree also), and find no evidence of the single brake pedal on a 982.

Hello All,
I had two 982's. On being a 986 with all options (Yellow/White). The second (Red) having no options with a single brake pedal.

Starting fluid isn't the devil people make it out to be, when used properly it won't hurt the engine at all. Starting fluid only becomes an issue when an idiot is holding the can.

Yeah people tend to over do it on the ether. It does look the be in good shape. Have you talked to the guy anymore? It would be cool to have a 982! My 54" blade would work great on there! Hope you can get it bought!

MY 982 is an IH machine with single brake pedal, also has the hidden dipstick--have to remove the little door above the tunnel cover. These are the best pics I have. I've got an old parts book somewhere, it may be IH edition. If I run across it I'll see if it lists the single pedal option.

In Roland's post the tc193 pic part #2 in pic the parts listing states[ tractor w/o two pedal brake att.]#'s18&19 in same pic are listed as part of two pedal brake att.
