Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Just wondering how you make up new lines with the o-ring boss to fit the hyd valves on the cyclops series? In the back of my mind I have been hashing out some ideas for my 1872 project using a triple stack of hyd valves. Problem is making up all of the new lines that I will need. If I do this I can make the tilt steering from the 1864 work. Going to be a great tractor when you are done.

Thank you! Im not a hydraulics expert, but do understand the basics. That along with my plumbing & refrigeration experience, plumbing and bending all the steel lines up does not scare me. Just hope it all works the way I want it to!

My plans are to use the extra cyclops hydraulic lift lines i have purchased to go into the valves and cut the 1/4" rubber hose off so the full i.d of the 3/8" tubing is available for maximum hydraulic flow. My concern is all the straight couplings fitting nicely in that small of an area since I will have 6 of them to contend with.

They do make a tool that makes the orb fledge in steel line, but they are very expensive and I cannot replicate that tight of a bend right passed the connection.

I have used silver solder and a sleeve made from tubing that will slip fit the lines to extend some steel hydraulic lines on several of my antique farm tractors when I could not buy replacements or make replacements due to tight bends. might be an option for you. The sleeves could also be brazed to the tubing.

Have you considered tapping the valve block? I've looked at them and I think the hole is deep enough.....

omg, i totally forgot silver solder!! Probably cuz i only use it for joining copper to steel, not steel to steel. Wow, that will make life so much easier. Thanks!

I have heard of guys doing this... in all reality would probably be the best route to take considering it would eliminate what i consider to be a poor excuse for a hydraulic connection. However, without putting a howlonger on the tractor, idk if it would fit? ... like be able to get the side cover on. Hell, ill do some checking on the tap size & if i have the right tap ill try it out on a crappier valve & then test it with 1200 psi of nitrogen

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
