check out taylor cable if you get a minute...they make real good wires..run them in my pickup with a "mild" build sbc...i dont think a garden tractor needs a 10mm wire but they do make good s&$t...but even orielly's will have an accel or msd kit...maybe 40 or 50 bucks i think and then cut to length, fold core and crimp...put the boots on and off to the races...the last kit i got came with TONS of stuff...goes a long way 1, 2, 3 or even 4 wires at a time....good luck with this tractor...
by the way i think ive seen you over at the cci forum?? |

I'd just put these on. $12. I install gobs of Omnispark wires. No issues here. No reason to spend any more $$ than that. $50 wire sets last just as long..... they just cost more. Even if they don't, you can put 4 sets on before you spent more. If you get 5 years out of one set...... you can do the math.

I am a member at Case Colt Ingersoll forums also but only have a few posts there so far.
I can promise this I refuse to pay KB retail price for these. How do I use that link Jon, that does make sence. I got it thanks. Just put omnispark wires in the search box.

Some work? That's an understatement. Lol. This is the worst condition tractor I've ever brought home. I am going to try to make this happen, but no promises this Cub has been rode hard n put away wet just to be rode hard again. I'm probably in over my head, considering I can get a decent shape running 2182 for 2000$. But it kills me to give up on a worthy machine, and make no mistake this is not some kind of restore, I'd be happy just getting it to run right and function as it should. It's a mess.

yeah im a member there too, but dont do much either..maybe theres no spice because they dont have a j-mech!!
![]() anyways, all i was trying to tell you was that for 40 bucks you can get enough material to do ,maybe 32 plug wires, if you get the right kit, (which is ALOT of small engines), so i dont understand j-mech when you were saying do the math?? if that omnispark one is for a set of 4?? dont matter either way i mean whichever works for you.. it is just a tractor, but im mostly a middle of the road guy.. i dont tend to buy the most expensive s%&t i can find, but i also dont buy the cheapest either.. just trying to help...take care |

I think Jon was referring to options in general not your post specifically. I looked at the site last night and was a little confused by how many options there were. What I saw looked piece by piece. I'd like to find a complete kit through Taylor, do they have them?

depends what you want really.. i know a distributor that you can buy msd 8.8 by the roll..you definitely need a universal one, i saw one on the taylor sight for an 8mm for an 8cyl universal..you specify boot angle, but usually they give you around 32 boots and terminals, stainless or gold plated.. the wires are long enough so that you can at least get 3 wires out of each for small engines..make sure you get one for a coil..just check around...those sheilded ones are pretty badass...i like to have extra stock laying around too...sorry i dont know how to post a link, i hate computors and thus i suck at using them..

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
