Exclamation 1810 resurrection

I have a 1986ish 1810 that I'm trying to redo after a couple of backflips and barrel rolls off of a trailer at 55 MPH (not my trailer by the way). It still runs but the hood, sides, fenders, seat, wiring and dash are trashed. I'm looking for parts and insite on this resurrection. It was the last tractor my grandfather bought before he pasted away in 1988. I live in North Carolina by the way and it's nice to meet you all

I would suggest completely disassembling the tractor so you can inspect every part. I would find it hard to believe that the frame is not bent, or the rear axles or tubes have not been damaged.

On the good side your 1810 is what is referred to as an 82series, and there are many parts out there to be found. I can personally recommend Rich at PATTON ACRES, he is a site sponsor and a real good guy to get parts from.

Would love to see some pics of the wrecked 1810.

I must admit, after seeing the pictures, it is not in as bad shape as I thought it would be.

Default Wreck

It looks like the instrument tower is cockeyed. I have seen many 82 series parts on ebay that were real reasonable but the shipping is high. If it has sentimental value then you should go for it.

I second that thought. Plenty of parts and parts sources to put it back in order! I say go for it and save it. Just make sure when you take it appart to realy check the frame and rear end. Go over every square inch of the frame with a good straight edge to make sure it isnt damaged, and check the rear for cracks in the aluminum transaxle where it bolts to the frame and axle carriers. Just something to look over when you begin. Good luck and cant wait to see how it turns out!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
