Default Greetings from Upstate NY

Hi,
I'm a new Cub owner as of this week. Just bought a 129 to replace my old Craftsman lawn tractor. I wasn't actually going to buy a Cub as I have a GE Elec-Trak E10 that I'm in the process of restoring, but I needed a tractor to mow on our property right now and the price was right. Came with a 48" mowing deck and the 42" IH plow (and a reprint of the manual). Tractor was cleaned up and restored to a nice working condition by the guy who sold the tractor to the guy I bought it from (who only used it this past winter to plow snow). All I need to do is buy new belts for the mower deck.

Used it today to move some gravel from our stream to our barn. the throttle takes a bit to get used to, but she is running fine after I adjusted the carb.

My wife says I bought it because it's yellow, loud and old, to replace the Dodge M37 Brush Truck I sold a few years ago.

I'm not so sure she's wrong

Am I using the Belt Chart correctly? Does my 48" mower use these two belts,
IH-489397-R3 3/8 x 75 1/2" and IH-489399-R1 1/2 x 80"?

Thanks!

The East end of 90, right next to the Mass border in Austerlitz, tucked into the backside of the Berkshires.

Yep! Just waiting on a response from the closest Cub dealer on availability of the belts.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
