Default Paranoia

Why do we have to log in and use a password? Are we afraid that the Wehrmacht (aka The Greenies) will learn our tech secrets and devise a VIII that will destroy all Cubs? This seems to be a total waste of time. Why insist on it?

Unfortunately there are spammers out there who spend all their time trying to advertise all over the internet. Logins help eliminate most of the spam. I moderate a jeep board, and before we made membership an approval by management process, we had 20 or 30 new members a day and were over run by ads for stuff that had nothing to do with jeeps. Now when I check error logs I can see we had 20 or 30 attempts by spammers to join or post, but they can't get in anymore.

We had the exact same issue with our KLR forum. You will get over run with spam adds and Porn links. It's not a waste of my time to sign in. I prefer it to the alternative.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
