Default 123 exhaust mod

Hi, new to the board, got a question. I like the look of the "tractor" type exhaust. What muffler are you guys using and did you have to change the carb jetting when switching to this set up?
The picture is my "new" 123, more pictures in the new members section.

Tractor Supply has a nice variety of mufflers and pipes. The one time I did mine I used the original muffler and a straight piece of pipe out from the head into the muffler. A muffler clamp is good advice to keep from straining the cast iron around the exhaust port threads.
The Kohler carb is adjustable, no need to replace jet. If you have a Walbro without the top adjustment, I suggest finding a good Kohler carb. #26 for your 12 hp engine. #30's are for 14 and 16 hp engines. Hope this helps some. Great looking Cub you have!

Good to have you along for the ride. You'll love the 123. I'm still working the bugs out of mine. But these guys here will set you strait when you run into trouble.
Nice looking tractor you got.

Here's the stacks on my 100 and 122. The 100 has a Farmall Cub muffler. I believe, the 122 has one, as well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
