Default 14 hp carb issue
I'm helping a friend with his 1450 and I can't figure out what's going on with the carb. First of all, it's a K321 14hp with a #26 carb and I believe it's supposed to have a #30 carb. The carb has been rebuilt and the float is set correctly. I've adjusted the needles and got it to run great at wide open and at idle. The problem is, it won't run worth a darn between 1/4 and 3/4 throttle. If I go from idle to wide open quickly it will sputter and almost die before it gets up to max RPM. If it try to increase engine speed slowly it will die just above idle. Anyone have any suggestions?

Yep, sell the carb and get a correct Kohler #30. It isn't going to run worth anything with the wrong carb.

Got the 1450 running great. I pulled the carb off and tore it completely down. When I pulled out the main seat, it had a bunch of crap around the outside of it. The seat didn't get removed when it got rebuilt. It now runs great at any speed.
