When I worked for the design division at Nike during the 90's I investigated this tech for rapid prototyping. (it was called stereo lithography then). It's sure come a long way.

Here's a link to a low end kit for around 1k called the Makerbot. Kind of an upscale garage industry attempt that turns out a somewhat crude mod but pretty cool all the same.

Jay Leno has one and he prints the part out and takes it and has a casting made out of it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
