Default Newbie 129 Owner

HELLO Recently bought a Cub Cadet 129 at a local auction Been doing some tune up work to it ,Oil, Air , Htdro Fluid & filter , cleaned & degreased everything ,ect. Haveing some troubles keeping it running it seems to boog down wene in motion full speed or near it . to the point were it stalls or nearly stalls. If I put direction selector to N the RPM's build back up . Is this a Hydrostst problem or a Ignition / Run problem I put a new silanoid & cond the points look like there brand new unsure of Volt Reg. Looks older ?? ( on flat level ground or up hill ) Thanks for input in advance. I need to get me a good service manual as well any sugestions ?? I will add some pics this weekend Thanks Again !!!!

welcome to OCC forums!

I would guess your running issues are carb/ fuel delivery related. If you have not done so already, pick up a carb rebuild kit for around 10 bucks or so, and go through it.

Our sponsors banners at the top of the page is a good place to start for a rebuild kit. Also your local Cub Cadet dealer should be able to get you what you need.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
