Default Bolt?

does someone know what type (size and thread) of bolt is used to attach the SG bracket to the block of a 341? In rebuilding the motor I lost the darn bolt and don't have the correct sized tap to use for reference. If someone out there could help me out it will save me the inevitable three trips to the Auto Parts store.

Looking at parts tree it doesn't show the bolt for the bracket #110 but for #111 it shows Screw, 5/16-18 X 1. I think they are the same bolts. Here's the link to the part look up on parts tree.

looking at partstree, I think it's a 5/16"-18 x 1" length.

You look up the part, and just below it will usually list the fasteners needed.

yeah, I wasn't sure if it was the bolts that mount the starter to the bracket, or the bracket to the block.

I took pictures all the way through the breakdown of my K341, so I'll post the pic of the starter bolts in a sec...

Let me go out and check my 128 bracket, I think they are a 3/8" bolt but not a 100% yet.

Here it is, I'd say 5/16"-18 x 1" looks right:

The two bolts that hold the bracket to the side of the block are 3/8"-18 about an 1 1/4" long. Mine measured just a tad shorter than that, but not much.

Those are for a Quiet Line starter, not a 169 S/G bracket.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
