bed liner under the mower deck? that's the first I've heard of that one...What about the sticking grass issue? It seems you want a smooth surface, I've even read where guys are using marine teflon paint to try and reduce grass sticking.

Use slip plate or ez slide. Both are a telfon paint. Works great in the drum and chute of a snow thrower also.

I've heard of guys using 'graphite paint' (I think it's something special from ag stores. Ask someone at your local farmers co-op.) on snowthrowers. This stuff might work for mower decks.
With rocks, sand, and even grass whirling around down there, it's a rough environment for any coating.

It certainly is a rough environment for any coating...The best way to protect it IMO is to blow off accumulated grass from the top with an air compressor and remove the deck and scrape away the grass clipping buildup with a putty knife once in awhile. NEVER use water to clean a deck. Avoid mowing wet grass. Just about anything you put on there will wear off anyway.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
