Where do you go to get away.
This year we finally got the road dry enough to take a camper down to what we call "The Nole". The only place that is guaranteed dry all year around for about half mile. It is 9 tenths of a mile from the nearest road wich is dirt. The next closest neighbor is even farther. Unless it is a dry year like this year has been you can only get down there with a big tractor (bigger than the Z) or 4x4 four wheeler. We used a Case 850E dozer to get the camper down there.
This camper isn't anything to brag about but it is perfect for the location. It is a late 70's, 30ft Holiday Rambler. Being I only paid $100 for it, it doesn't leak , everything works, and it will never leave this spot , I am happy. The best part is even if someone knows you are there , they most likely can't get there to bother you. I towed it with my truck about 40 miles to get it to our farm from were I bought it from and was really surprised at how nice it towed. I have towed some newer campers that didn't tow as nice as this old one did. Once we get the road good enough to have year around access with a truck we will start to build a regular camp. We are thinking around 16-20x30. I would like to have something big enough to live in if needed. My wife thinks I am crazy, but I don't think it is going to all fun and games in this country for ever. Would be nice to have a place to go to when the time comes.

I'm with them camo it and live there!! Sweet set up, would be nicer to have better access to it but then so would everyone else!! I'm supper jealous!!

Looks Great Joe, you'll love it. This is my get away Joe. It's up between Cooks Forest and Ridgeway. We built it in 87', and my grandpa's camp is across the drive been there since 71'. This is my absolute with out doubt most favorite place on this planet. I wouldn't give it up for anything, and I mean anything.

Here is a few pictures of the wife (Nancy) and me at our cabin and the river. It's the Rat river in Silver Cliff WI. My grandfather bought the land back in the early 40's from a lumber company. He built the cabin in 1945 and it was used mostly for hunting and family get away.
Haven't been able to go up there as much as when I was young, just not enough hours in the day. Sad that it just sits empty more nowdays, but it's one of only a few things in the world that has never changed. Still has the same sight and sounds with river running as it did 48 years ago.
