Cool First tractor pull - Finally!

Even given the crappy weather this weekend, I was able to go to my first tractor pull. Wasn't as many tractors there as I had hoped to see but I am not complaining!
Took a bunch of pictures to share for those who are interested. It was at our local fair here in town. I am sure the prize money wasn't anything to write home about, but I am kinda thinking people do not do this for the money?
Seen people of all ages there to watch the show as well as compete. I missed the peddle tractor part of the show, but I guess there were some kids having fun with a sled and all.
There was 3 or 4 tractors in the stock class and lost count of how many were in the modified class. Gotta remember to take ear plugs for them runs in the future - forgot how harsh the pipes are on the ears!

Awesome pics Mike! Got any plans on getting a puller now? I'm sure you can find some place to hide another cub from your lovely wife.

Excellent pictures Mike. I see what you mean about the handlebar throttles on the modified tractors. As far as winning payouts, the bigger payouts around here are in the stock classes. Everyone pays the same hook fees, so 1st place in a stock class of 20 tractors pays a lot better than a modified class of 4.

I'm with Duke. Everybody needs at least one pullin' tractor. My wife doesn't like to be reminded about it, but we went pulling on our anniversary last year. However, we didn't this year and probably won't again.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
