I'm from North Florida, own a 2006 Cub Cadet GT2550 shaft drive. I hope to find a hitch for this garden tractor so I can pull a single row plow through my 30'x30' garden. I'm looking for help on a Category 0 or sleeve hitch, rear wheel weights, how to put water in rear wheels (Tubeless) and make this rig more of a Garden Tractor than a lawn mower.
I also would like to know if anyone has found a way to improve the deck wheels to a swivel-type. ![]() |

Hey Urban,
My first thought is to get a 2nd tractor and have one for grass duty and one for everything else! Find an older IH Cub Cadet and let it work the dirt for you. WELCOME ABOARD!

Hey Urban Plowboy!!! welcome to the forum.
I second what dyt4000 said. Its much easier to just switch tractors for different jobs than to take off equipment and add different equipment!! ![]() |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
