I think Matt G has used them in the snow with great success. He's one of the V61's biggest supporters.

I like the carlisle snow blower tires. They have the X style tred on them like what the walk behind snow blowers come with. There awesome in the snow and on dirt

i was also looking at the carlisle x-trac tire but they are a bit high on price and they look like they would dig up the yard
I did find a website that sells them cheaper but is says snowblower tires
http://wnysmallengines.net/wheels/16...prod_2375.html
Do you think they will work on the cub?

The size is correct, they will work fine. Looks like those should grip real good.

I have the X-tracs on my 1211 and use it for snow plowing. They are by far the best front tires I have used. I have not used the v-61's in the snow but have used turfs, ags, and even barrowed a set of tri ribs for a week or so once. The X-tracs out turned (turning radius) and held a straight line better while pushing snow with the blade angled, then any of the others.

Here is a thread with some videos of it in action plowing snow.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
