Ok, so based off of my post in the wanted section I know even less about the twin cylinder Kohlers than I thought. From what I understand from Matt the crank cases are aluminum but the cylinder jugs are cast iron on the Magnum and KT series? Did Kohler ever make a fully cast iron twin cylinder?
The whole reason I'm looking for one is to build a twin cylinder puller. The class I'm trying to get into has to be originally 16-20hp, and maintain the stock stroke, so I won't be going crazy I'd just rather start with the best base possible and go from there. How would the newer aluminum v twins hold up to being beefed up to push like 30 hp? I'm thinking that might be a better route since they have the advantage of over head valves.

Maybe the K532 and K582 are totally CI, but I don't know for sure.
Due to the large number of performance parts for the Kohler Command V-twin engines, I would say you could be successful with one of those. |

The pullers are taking the v-twins and putting out as much as 100HP from what I have heard, so 30 would be a walk in the park!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
