Default # 1 trailer for $20!!!!

My buddy called me and offered his #1 trailer, but he wanted $400. I thought that was way too much. I kindly said that I did not want the trailer. So not 30 minutes later, I was driving by an older auto garage in Wake Forest. I happened to notice a small garden trailer parked next to the shop. I had some running around to do, but I stopped and looked quick and the gentleman said that he would take $20 for it. The back of it is rusted pretty good, and someone tried to patch it already. I was driving my wife's Honda, so I told the man that I would come back some time next week. I went to my parent's house and looked at some pics of #1 trailers on the web and realized that it is a cub cadet #1 trailer!!!!. I asked my Dad if I could borrow his Surburban and $20 (didn't have any cash on me). 20 minutes later I was loading up the trailer and could not believe what had just happened. it is still at my parents house, and I wont be able to pick it up till Saturday or Sunday. I will post some pics then, and hopefully it really is a #1 trailer. If not, then I have a good project yard trailer for $20. I cant wait till this weekend. I want to hook it up behind my "O" so bad. After I post some pics, can yall tell me if it is worth replacing the metal, or just leave it the way it is (except the tires).

Thanks

sorry, it took longer than i thought it would to post some pics. So I'm dying to know, is it a # 1 trailer? If it is, is it worth restoring(replacing some metal) or just cleaning it up and leaving it a diamond in the rough. thanks for your input.

I am pretty sure you found a #1 trailer, but someone that has one will speak up and verify it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
