Default Bercomac snow blower on SLTX 1054

Following up my general question at http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=15569 I have a Cadet SLTX 1054 (26 or so HP) and about 1,000 feet of driveway in total.

Found an interesting possibility. A Bercomac (www.bercomac.com) blower. Looks to be a lot easier to install and operate , as well as being universal should I ever get another tractor of different model or make.

Has anyone ever used one of these?

In your opinion , do you think the tractor would handle it? Would clear a maximum 12" snow fall (here it's light fluffy snow most of the time because of the cold and relative dryness) , usually about 6 - 8" about 6 or 7 times a year.

Opinions appreciated.

Found a local dealer. Apparently Cub Cadet now franchises these blowers so they come with the cadet sticker on them.

Cost is about $2,300 ,dealer installed with electric winch wired in and warranty intact.

$1,500 without the winch.

Looks like it's a go from my end.

Default bercomac

beerhunter, plowboy here. i do own a 782 cub cadet and also have a bercomac blower on it. i also have a bercomac blade and a bercomac broom. it is an awesome setup. i can change from 1 berco implement to the next in a matter of minutes. i am very happy with the quality and the performance of the equipment. i had went to a cub cadet dealer for a snow blower for my tractor. he had said, i will not sell you a cub cadet blower. we are pushing these bercomac blowers that are a lot better and easier to install. i wanted the snow blade as well. he said i have a broom that was a demo that i can let ya have it at a good price. i had to think that one over as i didn't think i needed the broom. but i did buy it with the blade and blower. i have used the broom to move snow more than i do the blower or blade some times. i had to also buy the sub frame to fit my tractor. for the blower i also bought the electric deflector and electric spout rotator. the spout rotator is kind of slow for the way it is designed. but i also have a cab on my tractor and didn't want to cut a hole in the fabric for the rod to turn the spout by hand. the blade i also bought the side wings for it. it really helps in gathering a lot of snow at one time. but all in all, i really like the bercomac equipment, plowboy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
