Default Mice damage

Guys

Just thought I'd share a couple pics of the nice things mice do to tractors. Pics are from a 2165 I picked up a couple years ago. Wouldn't run. Mice had eaten through one of the safety switch wires and made a nest in the blower housing. They also ate one of the coil plug wires. Good idea to check your engine before running it this spring. Had this thing started no doubt it would have cooked from the nest blocking the airflow.

Glad you checked it, before damage was done. Mice can sure mess up stuff.

Oh my! We just moved to the country surrounded by woods and have mice out the ying-yang! I did not think about the damage that they could do to a tractor! Ugh, I guess that is one more thing to look for when getting the ZTR ready for grass cutting duties!

Default I'll tell you what is disturbing...

To be flying a small plane and see a mouse on the floor of the cabin. Then remember where a mouse can get in a snake can get in also.

Something to think about for the rest of the trip.

And DECON

Mice did about $400 worth of damage to my previous suburban engine bay wiring. Luckily I called my insurance agent and found it was covered.

That tractor sat in a shed for the winter in CT. They can build a nest like that in a few days. I've seen a couple of them in the Vangaurds. Worked on one that got started with the mice still inside, very messy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
