Default New 100 owner

Hi guys. My name's Adam and I'm from Indiana. A couple weeks ago I got a model 100 from my dad. He bought it back in the early '80's. It's got the original mower deck and the engine was replaced several years ago with a K301 12 hp. It's currently dismantled in my garage while I fix a few worn parts. The steering was sloppy, the pivot pin was frozen into the front axle, and the frame has a few cracks I need to weld up. Other than that it's a pretty solid tractor. I plan to repaint it and use it.

Hi and welcome. Enjoy your 100. That is the next model I want to pick up, or a 70. They are so cool looking. Do you have the fenders?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
