Default Pics of the new toy. Another smoker in the stable.

Decided awhile back to sell off the loader and a couple other cubs to try and find a 782D to go along with my nice original 782. Ended up finding this one not too far away from home. The 782D's are getting harder to find . Anyway, the paints alittle faded, but the sheet metal is in great shape. Nice 50 inch deck with gator blades. A tad over 1000 hours on the clock. The PO had the head off to fix a leaky head gasket. There's a little o-ring that goes over a dowel pin and he forgot to put it in so it still leaks antifreeze . Then to top it off, he put the valve cover back on without a valve cover gasket. Wonder why it leaks. She actually runs out nice. Gonna go over it mechanically to work out the bugs before she gets a new coat o'red. Does anyone know the serial number of the first 782D? The smoker finally completes the collection, for now.................... Enjoy the pics.

Congrats on the new Smoker addition to the family. Sounds like the PO issues won't be too hard to fix.

Hey thanks guys!!
The PO fixes should all be easy fixes. I'll probably pull the engine to clean the engine compartment up and replace the drive line while I'm at it. I'm very happy with it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
