what side of the rotation does the oil journal face?

ok thanks aarolar ,, I see it in the manual now FIG 12-37 pg 129

my new piston doesnt have a arrow on it to face the flywheel side.

also the rod is tight on the crank, on half of it. turn it buy hand and I can feal it get tighter on the crank. only turned it till it was tight then stoped. dont want to scratch the crank. its odd there is not any rod bearings..
Im going to take it to my engine builder and see what he thinks.

The reasoning behind that is so oil gets flung into the hole. Failure to install the correct way will cause failure.


Doug,
Before you you take the engine to your engine builder, verify the cap was installed the correct way.

it was. its kinda like tongue and groove, it only gos on one way.

Im going to take the block to him anyway for a valve job after I port/polish the intake side and just port out the rough casting in the exhaust side. also mill the head back to straght.
