Default Cub Cadet Super Blade

I found a Cub Cadet blade model # 190-401-100, serial # 462661 on E-Bay. The buy it now was $550. After emailing back and forth the price came down to $450. The blade is several hundred miles away so shipping was $175... What are these things worth? Found another one without the cylinder for $350 and much closer. Here are the two...

My 1872 came with the exact same blade and a folder with all of the original owner's receipts. The blade sold for $750+$50 tax in 1998. Just the blade, no hyd. angling package.

From what I can see in the pictures, yes. There are a couple of plates that bolt onto the tractor frame that the back end of the blade frame pins to. Pretty simple. I have a manual for this blade and now that I've said that, there's probably one on this site.

Did you ever add the hydraulic cylinder to the blade? I wonder if a person can find one through another source other than Cub Cadet? I can imagine they are really expensive! I'm betting a person can find a close match through a farm supply store of some sort but not sure again...

I have the Haban blade for my 2072 and when I got it, it had the manual tilt feature. After a short look on e bay I found the cylinder I needed. I think I paid 350 for the blade and another 150 for the cylinder about 3 yrs ago.

Yikes! AAArrrggghhh! That's one thing about this hobby (obsession)... Things are expensive! Guess I better get the penny jar out... If anyone would be willing to take some measurements for me as far as the cylinder is concerned I would appreciate it!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
