not quite a cub but it does have cub wiring if that counts! off of a 100 . i've had this tractor for awhile and sold it to a buddy of mine. well a couple weeks ago i decided to buy it back for whatever reason i dont know but i wanted to make a hauler/puller/beater tractor just for hauling fire wood out of the woods there is alot of low branches roots sticking out of the ground and creeks so i didnt want to bang up my cubs. it started as a sears 14/6 i have a grand total of 40 bucks wrapped up in it and all thats left to get is a new pully for the engine shaft (new engine is 1 inch old engine was 1 1/8) i ripped the old 14 horse techumse off because it had a bad starter and slapped on (shoe horned) this 16 horse briggs with a starter generator...and man does she dig while climbing hills or hooked to something.... enough jabber as im sure your prolly having a hard time reading all this with my grammer and spelling problems here ... so here she is the "log dog" as my 9 year old son calls it and i have a hood for it its just that the briggs is literly to big for the tractor and the hood wont clear . heck i even had to relocate the battery and fuel tank because the starter generator now sits where it used to

That is one mean looking tractor and some wide meats to boot! You could always raise the grille and dashand possible make the hood clear ot cut it down to fit around the engine?

I thought of that but with the battery being outside the frame and fuel tank being on top of the engine I'd still be cutting. I braced the grille on the engine so its strong as well

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
