Nothing Recent. About 2 years ago I put on the red spring. I dont know about all the pieces parts, but I assume the part on the shaft that pulls the pressure plates apart must be worn?! I do not know for sure.

How much horsspower does your 108 have?
You don't need the red spring in a tractor that has under 20 horsepower and is use for daily use. I would use a blue spring form Cub Cadet Classics http://www.cubclassics.com/. He is one of our site sponsors. Another option is to use a cultivator spring that was talked about in another topic.

I have a cultivator spring in a IH Cub Cadet 100. The engine is making 14 to 16 horsepower. There is no slipage in the clutch and it is easy on your leg.

Odds are your clutch hanger is flexing....red spring cause the problem. Another area to look at is the area where the throwout bearing rides. That area may have some wear in it.

The clutch adjustment nut may be moving. I have to use a jam nut on my 100 to keep from turning.

When I push in the clutch, the top bracket that the clutch arm mounts onto, (that is like a bridge that goes from one side of the frame to the other, moves a little bit.... I will post a pic of the shaft so you guys can tell me if anything is missing/worn.

Ok, I looked up the part after writing a terrible explanation above. Yes then the hanger is flexing.

Default Which way is right?

The spacer is one way on parts tree.com and another when I took my clutch apart. Which way should the spacer be at the end of the shaft.

The picture on the left is correct. Should be the opposite of how it's shown on the parts tree diagram. The cup part of the spacer should go over the teaser spring. Found that out the hard way.

Good, cuz I got tired of waiting and went with my gut. I tried the wrong way first but found it to be unreasonable. I put this whole clutch back together and now it compresses without an issue, didnt change anything....go figure. I imagine it will happen again....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
