Sharpening Gators
So my dad passed away this summer (6/28) so as some of you have experienced, I have a few more houses to maintain now.
We are in Michigan, and one of their places is in Northern Michigan, west of Cadillac. I hauled the mighty 782 up there to mow (2) weeks ago, (2) acres, LOTS of sand. Now back home my lawn looks like threshed hay, after mowing. I'm thinking that all that sand dulled my new Gator blades? I know the lead cutting edge can be restored, but what the mulchers. Can those be sharpened? If so, how?

gcbailey is correct. On Gator blades, only the cutting edge does the actual cutting and re-cutting/mulching. According to the Gator blade manufacturer, the serated back edge of the blade doesn't actually perform a cutting function but rather redirects the already cut pieces of grass back toward the middle of the blade so that they can be cut multiple times.
