Default 982 rear pto

I have a rear pto setup from an IH 982. I am not sure if I can ask this (if not I apologize) but can someone tell me a ballpark figure of what they are worth?

Thanks,
Earl

I think I have seen the complete rear pto and hitch go for over $800. The rear hitch is made aftermarket now and is identical to the original and can be purchased for about $425 shipped to your door. The electric clutch is NLA from cub but someone I talked to got an after market one for close to $500.

I had a 3pt and rear pto and I sold the 3pt for 425. I still have the rear pto but wasn't sure what it was worth because I don't believe there are many attachments (if any) available for them. I should have probably sold them together. Some things are hard to price. Thanks for your help

Earl

I bought a 982 with 3pt hitch, rear pto, 3pt 48" tiller, Haban 54 Power Angle blade, 50C deck, and a 3pt Brinly Plow for 1500.00..

Took the 3pt hitch and Rear pto off and still sold the tractor for 1500 with deck.

Then sold the blade for 200 since it needed a hose and I have one already, and I kept the 3pt plow and tiller...

So the market is out there for someone that wants it....I wanted it and was willing to pay for it. Its a "Rare" item....Yes the implements are few and far between but Cat 0 items are out there....The Tiller alone for me was worth it...

That all being said, I would put it out there with all items for 7-800...You can always come down...Did you sell the rear cover with the 3pt hitch as that will cut into your selling ability?

Just because there aren't many attachments for the pto, there is still a big demand for them. Lots of people want the bragging rights that come with owning one. Btw, i do indeed have a 982 with the rear pto.

Me too I bought my rear pto off ebay. I believe it was $450 or $500. IMHO, the key to selling or buying is knowing all the parts you need. I almost left with a light switch instead of the PTO switch. The seller didn't know what was what.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
