Default New guy here for restoration info...

First and foremost...I am not a Cub guy. Really not even a tractor guy.
Now that THAT is out of the way, I AM an IH guy! I've been into Scouts since '98, and still have the one that mom and dad bought new that I rode to grade school in back in the 80's. So, if I have made it this far without being banned for life, we're good.
I own a small business that does restoration/modification work on Scouts and IH light trucks. We also do licensed restoration decals for the light line vehicles. Chances are if you see a nicely restored Scout or light truck out there...one of our products is somewhere on it. We make the glovebox decals to tell you how to lock/unlock the hubs, OEM style stripes, emblem decals, etc. We supply them to the IH parts wholesalers across the nation, and also on a retail level as well. We also peddle used parts, and some new parts to boot. In my "spare time" I do signs and vehicle graphics for local companies...and a few outside of our area who have found us through friends, family, or through our IH ventures.

Thanks for the forum, and the help that will no doubt be coming soon!

Off to start a thread looking for the help I need with a customer's Cub 95 Electric...

Welcome to the Forum. Your post brings back memories. Back in the early 1970s I owned (I was somewhere around 3rd or 4th owner) of a 1964 (I think) Scout, cloth top, and more rust than you'd care to know about. Oh how I wish I still owned that vehicle.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
