OK, I tried to mount my QA42A from mrcubcadet on my 782 today for a couple of hours, but wasn't successful. I just can't get the rods to go into the QA mounts under the tractor. Any suggestions or help, besides bringing my equipment to you and dropping it off
, would be greatly appreciated! I mounted one to my 149 and I didn't have nearly this trouble....what's the secret? Thanks in advance for your help.Cub Cadet 123

Try loosening the frankenstien bolts a few turns.Removing the subframe from the thrower will help.

I've already removed the Frankenstein bolts, but your second option-removing the subframe-that sounds like a very feasible option. Thank you!

If you look in the manual, it will show you how to use one of the legs to prop up the subframe. Works pretty slick. Pics are on MattG's website as well. I have tried it personally and it turns it into a relatively simple job.
Best of luck!

All good procedures mentioned.
I seperate the subframe from the thrower (2 rods/cotterpins) It makes it a lot easier on this old man. A 10 minute job once you get the hang of it. Just make sure the drive shaft splines are aligned so the yokes are in phase, otherwise it will vibrate/shake. |

Can you post pictures of your snowthrower. I have the same one and want to see how everyone else does it.

I mounted it tonight, using the "kickstand" style mount that is described in the manual and in Matt G's website. There was some difficulty setting up the Frankenstein bolts, since I had removed them from the frame and I also had to drive it into the threshold of the garage to lock into the QA hooks, but it is mounted and it was a lot easier than trying to muscle it on. Next step is to hook up the belt and lift mechanism. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow if I can.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
