Default How about a diagram of the parts for the Cat 0 hitch?

Anyone have a GOOD (not a tiny one i have found on the net), but a good diagram that shows the parts & where they bolt, for a Cat 0 hitch for a wide frame 82 series?

Thanks DWayne, I had seen that one. Is that the best out there? Trying to figure out how it mounts to the tractor & where the hydraulic cylinder is that controls it.

They are made with excellent quality materials and workmanship. If you remove the tunnel cover between the seat and steering tower, you will see the hydraulic cylinder that does the lifting. It is the same that works your deck. There is a lift bar that will slide in from the rear and attach at the cylinder with a 1/2" pin.

Once you understand how the hydraulic ram pushes the long arm that goes to the rear of the tractor you will be able to understand how the extreme three point works. It is essentially the same as the regular lift but due to the mechanical advantage of the three point arms behind the rear plate, it gives more lift range and allows implements to be raised up but remain horizontal while doing so. I have a John Deere 332 diesel garden tractor and the three point hitch works in about the same way including the arm from the ram and the mower deck going up and down with the same ram.

I understand that the rock shaft (i think it is called), causes a mechanical advantage (as you call it) that turns a short movement from the hydraulic cylinder to a longer movement at the end of the hitch arms. And that the third upper/center arm causes the attached implement remains horizontal to the ground.

What I am looking for is a diagram that shows how the way it mounts to the tractor & so on. I understand now that it uses the hydraulic cylinder that lifts the mower deck. I want to know because my plans are to build an articulating 4x4 based on a wide frame 782. So I am going to have to find another method to mount the hydraulic cylinder near the rear instead of in the middle where it is from the factory.

So looking at this image:


Obviously the upper arm is not a lift arm, the lower 2 are the lift arms, where it mounts on the tractor is just a pivot point, there is other arms that lift the lower arms, and the upper arms are connected to what I believe is called the rock shaft. The rear plate (#5), does that bolt directly to the rear, or is there space between it & the rear cover plate? What's special about the rock shaft? Is it a cast iron piece? Is there bearings at the ends of this shaft, bolted together or what?
