I myself would prolly look into the 1811. I for sure would try to beat him down on the asking price. I realize you are in Canada and prices are a little bit higher but 1500$ is a little on the steep side. Oh and by the way welcome to OCC.

Ah.....forget the JD's...........
![]() I have both of those models (1450 & 784). I like both. The major difference is the engine. It comes down to a single cylinder Kohler in the 1450 or a twin cylinder Kohler in the 1811. You will have to decide your desire and preference.

The 1811 sounds like what your looking for.... If it has the tiller the only thing needed for a moldboard is a sleeve adapter. It's hard to say on the price without pics, but I would try to get it for less.

First of all:
!I too would pick one of the cubs. I'm leaning towards the 1811. Has the tiller and thrower with it as well as a set of weights. See if you can get the seller down some on the price. Good luck and keep us posted!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
