I really am changing out the engine, ( knockin pretty good, probably just needs a rod and crank turn,,,,projects , projects!
). Well one thing leads to another and.....She just looks to good when she's all gussied up! It'll be put back together this week. I will be "re-installing" the hydro unit since I finally found a replacement gear for the pump, thanks to some one here giving the link to CCSpeacialties.com. Thanks to whoever that was. . I built my own headlight panel. I've never needed lights, but well you know,,, the wole "gussied up "thing again.

Looking nice! Any close-ups of your headlight panel and how you mounted the lights to the panel? I want to do that myself one of these days.

I finished it and thanks to 58 degrees
in NE Ohio, got to try it out! I decided not to install the hydro unit though. It is on ebay listed under "narrow frame hydraulic unit". The 147 is going in for the winter project. The hydro "kreeps" up in speed as I cut the grass. The lever isn't holding. Any help/point to look at when I get her torn down?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
