Default ATV tires on a Cub Cadet

Has anyone here used the ATV tires on the rear of their cubs and used them for mowing? If so, could I see some pics please? I am looking to maybe put some on my 1210. I am looking at possibly the 25x10x12 maxxis. It is the closest I can find to my 23x10.5x12 's without going too skinny. Thanks, Jason

Better traction than turfs but still easy to put chains. Like a step between turfs and ags

Exactly, plus the price of them is a little better than the garden tractor tires. John Deere is doing a very similar tire on theirs now from the factory. I just don't know how they work. My yard gets a little wet though the spring/fall and the ags I have had in the past dig pretty bad. I mow with it, and I don't plow. the current turf tires are dry rotted and I would get stuck at the slightest hint of water. I figured if these were cheaper and worked as well, why not.

My dads 4x4 jd 585 has the tab style tires on it. They work great even in 2wd he has a very hilly yard and a steep banked pond. Handles all of that in 2wd no prob and pushes snow with no problem in 4wd and no chains. I've been considering the same tires myself but I'll probably end up with ags

Traction is traction. If it will work go for it.

I buy them all the time. Used on CL more then enough tread for our tractors left on them. I even bought 2 full set brand new that they changed to a different set. 100 for a set! I have 1 set on my loader and other on my 1811. 1 set on my model 70 ans 6 more in stock for future tractors. Here are some pictures.

I have a 1641 with turf type ATV tires on it. A friend put them on the tractor because he sold ATV's and got a good price on them.

I bought the tractor from him but never cut grass with it. All I remember about it, the tractor rocked around quite a bit with the soft tires on it. They were also taller than the standard tires.

I guess they worked okay as the PO used the tractor for a couple years after he installed the tires.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
