Last Tuesday and Wednesday here in VA, we got some decent snow. I got 20" of snow (measured in my yard). The evening prior, I had my front blade hooked up on the old 126. My plan was to go out every 5-6 hours and push the snow but I was lazy and too busy playing with my little girl and pretty much waited until the snow was over. I had the ole 126 up in the front yard (fairly steep back yard.....Duke (Methos) can vouch for me) covered in a tarp. I went out and uncovered the ole girl and fired her up and the whole time thinking there ain't no way I am going to push this much snow. I got to say boys, I had absolutely no trouble at all other than the few times I knew I was "pushing" my chances a bit and got her hung up for a few seconds. I pushed snow up and down my street I live on for 3 days! My 126 is all original and I don't know if the engine has lost a little pep or if I don't have the governor set correct because she does loose a few RPM's pulling my 325lb butt up my steep back yard but she had no trouble pushing 2 feet of snow at all. The only thing I wish I had was the "float" button in my implement bar as mine is missing. I had so much fun and my little girl had a blast riding along with ole dad pushing the snow. I hope we get some more snow but if not I can't wait till next winter! But I did finally get all my parts together for my rear lift and will be finally able to plow my garden next week (assuming snow is gone) so that gives me more to look forward to! Sorry for the long post but I had so much fun I couldn't hold it in and I'm sure my fellow cub buddies have had fun like I did and it's just a good ole feeling knowing your on a 40+ year old garden tractor doing stuff that it shouldn't in today's box store lawn tractor standards. Listening to that ole Kohler back firing when throttling down throwing fire out the exhaust and the smell of the fuel is hard to beat! I gotta roll on out now I got a powerful thirst I have to take care of
Have a good one boys........

It is truly amazing that tractors as old as these will still do as much and most times more than one brand new. My 48 yr old 102 still kicks the snot out of most all the tractors in the neighborhood. I do have it torn down for refurbish just because it deserves it.

When my wife and I moved to farm country I had an itch for a tractor. She recommended I get a GT. I laughed, said no and that I needed something bigger. Long story short I ended up looking into GT and found my new addiction, CUBS! My 105 takes such a beating. It will sit for weeks in the cold and I can jump on turn the key and it starts right up without giving me any issues. I had an old chicken coup with a cement foundation that I broke up and pulled it out with it. The cement must have weighed 400+ #'s. These machines are tanks!!

Great story toolmaker, these old tractors keep right on a working, I know the feeling. I always get a fuzzy feeling inside while using my 1964 100. it's almost like I've traveling back in time to a much simpler time. I think of all the things this tractor has been a part of in it's 48 years, and oh the stories it could tell of days lost but not forgotten. I tell the people that never operated one of the old tractors, you ain't lived, same with hunting for your own food, if you haven't done it, get out and do it, it's a feeling we can't explain, it's a high that's better than any drug or booze could give you.
Take those so called box store kinker toys, and this ole 48 year old tractor would chew it up and spit it out, even after plowing the garden ![]() I take myself a lot of pictures, because one day when I leave this earth, I hope the kids will put up a picture of grandpa Todd and his cub cadets, and wife Nancy and with any luck my collection will go to the grandkids, Jack got his 540 pedal tractor last christmas, and they can't keep him off it, so that's a start, get the Bean (Berkley) up here this summer for her try at cubbin'Sorry if I jumped in on your thread, but I was on a roll

Good reading Zippy! I had a 100 one time and my buddy wouldn't leave me alone and I sold it to him for hardly nothing
Have been regretting it ever since! But it does have a good home and he dose not have a whole lot of cash to spare so it worked out both ways.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
