Smile New member with a CC 1250

Hi all. I have just recently picked up my first vintage garden tractor from a friend. It's a 1975 Cub Cadet 1250. It is a complete machine. I had to do a little work to get it going but everything works. I broke out the pressure washer and it cleaned up nice so now I have it taken all apart and going to do a serious clean up and paint. It is coming along real nice. I love the tractor and it has been a lot of fun to work on. If I have any questions I am sure there is someone out there that can help out. Thanks for having me in the Cub Cadet's only club. Mick.

I guess I need to put up some pics for everyone. Should I start a new Thread?

That's fine, please post them in the IH built Cub Cadet section.

The 1250 is a nice tractor. I certainly enjoy mine. Good to have you here, and I am interested in the pics.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
